Competitor Analysis
Shockingly, the current landscape reveals a singular allergy food scanner app named Fig. Regrettably, its product coverage is notably constrained, and users are required to pay a monthly subscription fee, raising concerns about accessibility and affordability in the market.
By creating a new allergen system for the FDA, we believe there is plenty of room for design, accessibility and functionality in the allergy app realm.

What we found
pain points
!
Inconvenient Grocery Shopping
Having to constantly look up if something is safe to eat takes precious shopping time away.
!
Ambiguity in Food Labels
“May contain...” creates difficulty assessing the true contamination levels.
!
Confusing Food Labels
The abundance of varied terms for one ingredient makes it challenging to confidently buy.
