I’m a product designer who can easily switch between soft mode and critical mode. How did I learn this? Through play directing and teaching!

As a director, I supported my team while analyzing each character to give feedback. Every character had different reasons behind their lines or gestures just like users in UX design! I try to understand what makes people to do things the way they do.

As a teacher, I realized that my idea of helping is not always my students’ ideas of helping. Learning to see things from their perspective taught me how to view the world through others’ eyes.

These experiences showed me when to lean on empathy and when to offer critique. And the strengths of each!
